Salmon Egg Update

Today we drew diagrams of what we thought was going on inside the salmon eggs.

Then we carefully took out a few eggs to have a closer look. We made sure to keep them cool and not bump them around to much so they don't get hurt.

Then we drew what we could actually see - we could see far less than we had imagined!
They do have very beady eyes looking back at us though...

Otis did a bit of writing about salmon...

"Salmon are vicious creatures and if threatened they will try to rip your heart out.
They live in underwater caves on dark dim ledges where they breed to make bigger and stronger salmon armies to wipe out all of the human race and take Earth as their own."

I think it is time we found out some salmon facts!!!

  9. YEAH!!! YEAH!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The salmon eggs have hatched but only two. They look like tiny whitebait. This morning 1 hatched and we all thought that the salmon that hatched in the morning was squashing the other salmon eggs.
But this is the sad thing we have 2 dead salmon eggs and 1 that's dying. That's really really sad. Now we only have 45 and a half
